Tables for me are fun there
is so much that can be done to express ideas in a table form. The degree
to which a table functions depends upon what it is being used for,
providing that there is a flat surface to do something on the rest can
be pure creative or technical indulgence. The following are some of the
different Occasional, nesting, dining,
boardroom, sofa, garden, display, work tables created, some one off and
others a popular favorite. |

TADLEY GATES
Occasional table. Designed to explore the idea of ambiguous function and form. the powder coated aluminum rods look as
though they pierce through the boxes, exploration of the table reveals drawers that open either ends. The table is made in solid sycamore. The drawer boxes are joined with decorative lapped finger joints. |

JAKOB KRAMER
Occasional table, The design was inspired by natural leaf forms combinined with the intention of exploring the decorative grain qualities of laminated Elm. The central cross is Sycamore and the leg buttons, middle stripe and bowl are Indian Rosewood. |

CHINESE TABLE
Occasional table designed to form a feature in an interior that contained a collection of traditional Chinese art. Made in lacquered mahogany, turned throughout with sculpted joints and features round wedged through tenons Which show in both the legs and the top frame. This table explores a design and construction theme in a number of variations. |

HOBSONS JOISTS
Occasional Table. A series of pieces that are made from simple 'n' sections joined at the corners with decorative hand cut dovetails, each section is linked with polished copper tube. This Occasional table is made in heart Rimu and Matai which was rescued from a warehouse on Hobson's wharf before development took place building the Americas cup village. |

M D Man
Side table designed in response to a brief that stated 'close inspection must create curiosity'. This was achieved by using an "impossible" dovetailed bridle joint. how can this be made and assembled as it is dovetailed in all three planes? Made in Jarrah and Birds Eye Maple veneered onto a plywood core underside ends of which are tapered to expose the ply laminations. |

ELSYIUM TABLE
Dining table designed for a yachtie who was creating a nautical feel throughout his home. The table form was inspired by yacht masts and rigging, a theme which continued to the base resembling a caulked deck. The top of the mast features a marquetry compass rose made from a timber specie found in each continent. the mast and stem are Tawa and Jarrah. |

EMMERDALE
Dining Table. Designed for one of the producers of the soap opera 'Emmerdale Farm'. The dining table is designed to create the illusion of a floating top on tapered legs. Made throughout in French Cherry, the leg corners are finger jointed, the top is a quarter matched veneered panel which connects to the legs with sand blasted steel rods. |

Dining tables. A simple design made in a wide range of material combinations from Corian, laminate, lacquer, veneers and solid wood to this special featuring a thick laminated plywood top with solid cherry legs and an ebony shadow detail. Pradeeps table can be made in a variety of sizes or a series of modular squares and rectangles to suit a range of dining layouts. |

SPIDER TABLE
Dining table which was inspired by the Star wars table designed by Fred Baier in Birmingham museum. The design has continued to evolve into its present form. Made from two black lacquered laminated legs joined with a Limed Oak panels and central boss. The form has an animated air and when a glass top is used it gives a very light but striking presence. |

SNAPPER Range: Tables
The snapper range of furniture is a coordinated range of designs expressing a simplicity of form and construction. A fluid curve machined from solid timber acts as the transition between the horizontal and vertical surfaces creating a flowing softness of line. The solid timber corners and thick plywood surfaces retain an honesty in construction by exposing the decorative ply laminations and end grain timber. The form can be made into the following figurations: Occasional Tables, Nests of tables, Side Tables, Dining Tables, Stool, Bench, Writing Desk, Office Desk, Computer desk, Desk pedestal with drawers or doors. The standard range is available in Pine, Maple, Ash, Oak and Mahogany, special veneers are available on request. |

King size bed designed for a futon. Inspired by Japanese traditional architecture and the wish to give the sleeping platform a feeling of levitation. Made in elm with a cherry rail and ebony wedges. |
